Sukhsar traces its roots back to S. Jiwan Singh — a bell-founder, coppersmith, and free-clinic herbalist who created what he called “Sukhsar,” known to many as “Red Ointment.” Originally developed to treat burns suffered by foundry workers in the early 20th century, the remedy went on to help countless people with wounds, ulcers, and skin abrasions — earning recognition from the Northern India Chamber of Commerce in 1926. True to his belief that healing should never come at a cost, Jiwan Singh never charged patients at his free clinic, funding it instead through his own trade. Decades later, his family rediscovered his handwritten formulations and revived them under the Sukhsar name — carrying his legacy of care forward, with 10% of profits still supporting causes that ease human suffering.
